Lewisville electricity providers: 3 wires companies, 2 price lists

Three wires companies hold territory inside Lewisville, and a ZIP code can’t tell you which one is yours.

Oncor and TNMP homes can pick who sells them power. CoServ homes can’t. Find your lines first. Then price plans from up to 44 companies, see why the two lists cost different amounts, and read the state’s outage numbers.

We show who delivers power at your ZIP and whether you can pick a company. The plan finder comes from a partner. If you enroll in it, we may be paid. That has no effect on a score or rating. Or see both company lists first

Short answer

Lewisville homes sit on Oncor, TNMP or CoServ lines, and a ZIP code can’t tell you which. On Oct 16, 2026, Power to Choose listed plans from up to 44 companies for Oncor’s and TNMP’s lines. The cheapest simple 12-month plan was 11.6¢ per kWh on TNMP’s lines and 12.0¢ on Oncor’s, at 1,000 kWh. CoServ homes can’t pick a company.

01 · Who delivers

Who provides electricity in Lewisville?

Three wires companies hold territory inside Lewisville’s city limits: Oncor, TNMP and CoServ. Two of them let you pick who sells you power.

Oncor and TNMP: you pick a sellerPower to Choose, Oct 16, 2026

On these lines, a retail company sells you power and sends the bill. Oncor or TNMP only carries it to your meter. Every Lewisville ZIP that lists plans showed Oncor, TNMP or both.

CoServ: no seller to pickCoServ’s own site

CoServ is an electric co-op. Its site says “Members and Customers never need to shop around for a better deal,” so there is no company to choose.

Is Lewisville on Oncor or TNMP?

Both. Oncor’s tariff lists Lewisville among its cities, along with Flower Mound, Irving, Little Elm and The Colony. TNMP’s tariff also names Lewisville, plus Coppell. It does not name Irving, Flower Mound, The Colony or Highland Village.

A city on a tariff list can be served in part. TNMP’s own map of its North Texas area shows a small patch labeled Lewisville, not the whole city, and the map has no streets. TNMP’s 2025 report to the PUCT gives its address as 577 N. Garden Ridge Blvd., Lewisville.

We found no street-level map from any of the three companies. So we can’t say which Lewisville streets sit on which lines, and we won’t guess.

How to read this: the state rating counts complaints per 1,000 customers filed March 1 to August 31, 2026, from the PUCT’s September scorecard as Power to Choose shows it. “Our score” is our 100-point records review, given only to companies we’ve reviewed. A “simple” plan means one fixed price for 12 months, with no credit, usage fee or time-of-day rate. Prices are fact-label averages at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh, with Oncor’s delivery and before taxes. A label dated before Oct 4 can run about 0.8¢ low. Other usage levels are our estimates.

Same rules as the Oncor table. These prices include TNMP’s delivery, $85.27 at 1,000 kWh in the PUCT’s Oct 1, 2026 table, so the same plan costs more here than on Oncor’s lines unless the seller prices it lower. Our estimates fill in other usage levels.

Think Energy also sells over both sets of lines. It is a paid partner of ours, so it stays out of the tables, our picks and our scores. On Oct 16, 2026, Power to Choose listed 3 Think plans on Oncor’s lines and 2 on TNMP’s. The state rates Think 2 of 5 for complaints.

What do Lewisville electricity rates cost right now?

Your price has two parts. Your seller sets one. Your wires company sets the other, and it runs $12.54 a month higher on TNMP’s lines than on Oncor’s at 1,000 kWh.

How much more does TNMP delivery cost?

At 1,000 kWh, TNMP’s delivery charge is $85.27 a month. Oncor’s is $72.73. That is $12.54 more a month, or $150.48 a year, our math. The gap grows with use. It is $8.02 at 500 kWh and $21.57 at 2,000 kWh.

TNMP’s figure is from the PUCT’s table as of Oct 1, 2026, and it matches TNMP’s Sept 13 rates. Oncor’s $72.73 is the charge in its tariff since Oct 4. The PUCT’s Oct 1 table still shows $64.36 for Oncor. A site that uses that table will show a gap of $20.91, not $12.54. Bars start at zero.

TNMP: PUCT delivery table as of Oct 1, 2026. Oncor: its tariff in force since Oct 4, 2026, our math at $4.06 a month plus 6.8673¢ per kWh. Delivery only, before taxes.

Oncor’s number is temporary. The PUCT is still ruling on Oncor’s request in Docket 59249, so $72.73 can change again. TNMP changed its charge on Sept 13, 2026, per our TNMP guide. See our Oncor guide for the Oncor dates.

What do plans cost on each list?

Power to Choose prices include delivery. The cheapest simple 12-month plan is $4 a month lower on TNMP’s lines than on Oncor’s, $116 against $120 at 1,000 kWh. The middle plan is the other way round. It costs $149 on TNMP’s list and $132 on Oncor’s, which is $17 more a month, or $204 a year.

So the spread is wider on TNMP’s list. From cheapest to middle, it is $33 a month there and $12 on Oncor’s list. Shopping pays off more on TNMP’s lines.

Why does TNMP have the cheapest plan if its delivery costs more?

Veteran Energy’s Basic 12 and Express Energy’s Speedy 12 both show 11.6¢ at 1,000 kWh on TNMP’s lines. That is 2.1¢ below the next simple plan, 13.7¢. We opened both labels. They were dated Oct 16, 2026, and each has an energy charge of 3.0510¢ per kWh and no base charge. TNMP’s delivery is passed through as billed.

Veteran Energy’s Basic 12 at 1,000 kWh on TNMP’s lines: $115.78
  • TNMP delivery: $7.56 a month plus 7.771¢ per kWh$85.27
  • Veteran’s energy charge: 3.0510¢ per kWh, no base charge$30.51

From the plan’s fact label dated Oct 16, 2026, before taxes. Our math: 30.51 + 85.27 = 115.78, which the label rounds to 11.6¢.

The same plan at 1,000 kWh on Oncor’s lines: $122.38
  • Oncor delivery: $4.06 a month plus 6.8673¢ per kWh$72.73
  • Veteran’s energy charge: 4.9645¢ per kWh, no base charge$49.65

From the matching Oncor-area label, also dated Oct 16, 2026. Our math: 49.65 + 72.73 = 122.38, which the label rounds to 12.2¢.

On Oncor’s lines the same Veteran plan has an energy charge of 4.9645¢, or $19.14 more at 1,000 kWh. That more than cancels TNMP’s higher delivery, so the plan costs $6.60 less a month on TNMP’s lines. We don’t know why Veteran prices energy lower there.

Read the rest of Veteran’s label before you sign. The plan is for new customers only, and the exit fee is $20 for each month left. It is paperless, so a fee can apply if you don’t keep a valid email on file. The label also says your price can change if delivery charges change. Express Energy’s Speedy 12 shows the same prices and energy charge.

What does a typical Lewisville home pay?

No public source tracks a Lewisville-only bill. The EIA says a typical Texas home used 1,096 kWh a month in 2024. See the average Texas electric bill guide and Dallas electricity rates for wider numbers.

Which lines is my Lewisville ZIP on? Check it

Power to Choose lists TNMP alone for ZIP 75029, and TNMP plus Oncor for 75057, 75067 and 75077. A ZIP can’t say which lines reach your house, so treat the answer as a first look.

  • What the lookup shows. Three Lewisville ZIPs list both TNMP and Oncor. That means both companies hold territory in the ZIP. It doesn’t say which one wires your house.
  • What it can’t show. CoServ isn’t in the lookup. A home on CoServ’s lines can’t pick a seller, even in a ZIP that lists plans.
  • What we couldn’t confirm. Census files list no ZIP area for 75029 or 75027. That fits a P.O. box ZIP, but we couldn’t check it with the Postal Service. Try the ZIP printed on your street address.

Four ways to find your wires company

  1. 1
    Read your last bill

The delivery lines name your wires company. If CoServ sent the bill, CoServ is your electric company.

  2. 2
    Check your ESI ID

It is the long number for your meter. Its first 7 digits name the wires company. Oncor’s start with 1044372, and TNMP’s start with 1040051.

  3. 3
    Use the companies’ own tools

Oncor has an online ESI ID lookup by address. TNMP asks you to contact it for an ESI ID. CoServ links a territory map on its set-up page.

  4. 4
Match the fact label to your lines

Each label is priced for one wires company. A plan’s Oncor label and its TNMP label show different prices, so read the one that matches your lines.

05 · CoServ

What if CoServ serves my Lewisville home?

CoServ is an electric co-op based in Corinth. If it is your electric company, you can’t pick a seller, and the plan lists on this page are not for you.

CoServ’s site says it operates differently from retail electric companies, and that its “Members and Customers never need to shop around for a better deal.” Starting service costs a $40 connection fee. CoServ says the deposit depends on a credit check and “will not exceed $300.” Its Customer Care Center is 940-321-7800, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central.

How much of Lewisville is CoServ territory?

CoServ publishes a map of its service boundary. We laid it over the Census city lines and measured land. About one-quarter of Lewisville, 25.8%, sits inside CoServ’s boundary. On 9.0% of the city, CoServ is the only company with a certificate. The rest of that quarter is shared with Oncor, TNMP or both. The other 74.2% is outside CoServ’s boundary.

Who holds a service certificate on Lewisville’s land, by share of land area
  • CoServ alone: no seller to pick9.0%
  • CoServ and Oncor share the land10.9%
  • CoServ and TNMP share the land2.5%
  • All three share the land3.4%
  • Outside CoServ’s boundary: Oncor, TNMP or both74.2%

Our measurement of CoServ’s own boundary map laid over Census city lines, using flat-map area math. Shared land means more than one company holds a certificate there. It does not show who serves a house. CoServ last edited the map layer on Dec 12, 2018, and the co-op has grown since, so treat the edges as approximate.

That is why neighbors can sit on different lines. Highland Village’s new-resident page lists CoServ as its electric company, and CoServ alone holds the certificate on 95.3% of the town’s land. The Colony and Flower Mound are mostly shared land.

ZIP 75077 lists plans, but many homes in it may be CoServ’s. About 68% of the ZIP’s land is in Highland Village (38.6%), Copper Canyon (15.6%) and Double Oak (14.0%). CoServ alone holds the certificate on 95.3%, 97.9% and 98.2% of those towns’ land. Power to Choose still lists plans for the ZIP, and a CoServ home can’t use them.

What about shared land?

In a shared area, we can only say that CoServ may serve you, which means no choice, or the other company may, which means you can shop. Only your bill, your ESI ID or the companies’ own lookups settle it. Our utility finder explains where to look.

07 · TXU or Reliant

Which is cheaper in Lewisville, Reliant or TXU?

It depends on your usage and your lines. TXU’s plan is far cheaper near 1,000 kWh. Reliant’s wins at 500 kWh. At 2,000 kWh, the winner flips with your wires company.

Monthly cost of Reliant’s and TXU’s 12-month plans at three usage levels on Oncor’s and TNMP’s lines, October 2026

2,000 kWhTNMP’s lines$318.00$312.00TXU by $6

Fact-label average prices from Power to Choose, Oct 16, 2026, times the usage, before taxes. Our estimates. Reliant’s plan is for new customers only, with a $150 exit fee. TXU’s plan is open to current customers, with a $150 exit fee.

TXU listed one plan on each list, Smart 1000 Select 12. Its terms give a $100 bill credit in every billing cycle with 1,000 kWh of use or more, plus a $25 credit in billing cycles that end in July, August and September. That is why its price drops so far at 1,000 kWh. One kWh short, and the $100 is gone.

Reliant listed four plans on each list, from 9 to 24 months, and all are for new customers only. Its 12-month plan has no credit, so its price eases down slowly as use grows. Neither company has the lowest simple price on either list. Reliant’s 12-month plan costs $31 a month more than the cheapest on Oncor’s list and $50 more on TNMP’s, at 1,000 kWh.

Complaints and scores. The state rates TXU 5 of 5 and Reliant 4 of 5 for complaints. We score TXU 80 and Reliant 62 out of 100. Our TXU vs. Reliant guide compares fines, contracts and solar buyback.

Know your usage before you pick TXU’s plan. If you use under 1,000 kWh in a month, the credit does not apply, and the bill can jump. Learn how bill-credit plans work, and pull your own numbers with Smart Meter Texas.

08 · Reliability

Which electric company is the most reliable in Texas?

Your seller can’t change how often the lights go out. Poles, wires and repair crews belong to your wires company, so that is where the outage numbers live.

Texas wires companies report two numbers to the PUCT each year. SAIFI is how many times the average customer loses power. SAIDI is how many minutes the average customer spends without it. Lower is better for both. The PUCT’s rule sorts outages into four kinds: forced outages, planned work, outside causes, and major events such as an extreme storm.

Average outages per customer in 2025 for four Texas wires companies, from their reports to the PUCT, October 2026
Wires companyForced outages, timesForced outages, minutesAll four types, minutes

TNMP1.0389.65160.98
CenterPoint1.13100.65193.36

System-wide SAIFI and SAIDI for the 2025 reporting year, from each company’s Service Quality Report to the PUCT (Project 59163). The last column adds the four interruption types, our math. Oncor’s figures come from its corrected report filed Aug 12, 2026. Lower is better.

Count only forced outages, and Oncor had the fewest in 2025: 66.57 minutes per customer, against 89.65 for TNMP. Add all four kinds, and Oncor had the most, 244.14 minutes, because major events alone took 169.51. TNMP’s total, 160.98, was the lowest of the four companies. No company wins every count.

Oncor’s average minutes without power per customer in 2025: 244.14
  • Forced outages: equipment that fails or must come out right away66.57
  • Planned work: lines taken out on purpose4.55
  • Outside causes: power-plant, transmission or substation problems3.51
  • Major events: catastrophic storms by the PUCT’s rule169.51

Same scale as the TNMP bar below. Oncor’s 2025 report to the PUCT, corrected Aug 11, 2026, in minutes per customer.

TNMP’s average minutes without power per customer in 2025: 160.98
  • Forced outages: equipment that fails or must come out right away89.65
  • Planned work: lines taken out on purpose1.41
  • Outside causes: power-plant, transmission or substation problems49.51
  • Major events: catastrophic storms by the PUCT’s rule20.41

Same scale as the Oncor bar above. TNMP’s 2025 report to the PUCT, filed Feb 14, 2026, in minutes per customer.

These are company-wide averages, not Lewisville streets. Oncor and TNMP serve very different territories, and storms hit places unevenly. Use the numbers to see how each company reports, not to predict your next outage. We found no CoServ report in the PUCT’s 2025 filing, so we have no outage numbers for it.

Which sellers get the fewest complaints?

The state rates nine companies 5 of 5 on both Lewisville lists: BKV Energy, Champion Energy, Constellation, Good Charlie, Infuse Energy, NEC Co-op Energy, Revolution Energy, Spark Energy and TXU Energy. The rating counts complaints per customer. It says nothing about outages, which are the wires company’s job.

Four of the nine have our scores: Champion 96, BKV 82, TXU 80 and Constellation 77. See every score we’ve given, and how to file a complaint.

11 · Outages and help

Who do you call in Lewisville when the power goes out?

Call your wires company, not your seller. Save the right number before the next storm.

OncorReport an outage, any hour

888-313-4747

You can also text OUT to 66267, or check Oncor’s outage map.

TNMPReport an outage

888-866-7456

TNMP also runs an outage map.

CoServReport an outage

855-938-3496

You can text OUT to the same number if you first enrolled in text messages in your SmartHub account. This is the number on CoServ’s own outage page on Oct 16, 2026.

Your seller can’t turn power back on, so call it only about bills and plan terms. For a downed line, stay far away and call 911. Our outage guide lists the steps for a long outage.

Need help paying a Lewisville bill?

  • Texas 211: call 2-1-1 or 877-541-7905, and a worker points you to local help.
  • TDHCA’s CEAP: the state housing agency says its Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program helps low-income households with immediate energy needs. We couldn’t open a local agency list, so ask 2-1-1 where to apply.

Help can run out, and no program is certain to pay. Our guide to paying an electric bill in Texas lists more routes, and the no-deposit guide covers move-in costs.

12 · Before you sign

Five checks before you sign a Lewisville plan

Each check uses a document the company must show you or a public record.

  1. 1
    Name your wires company first

Oncor and TNMP versions of one plan carry different prices. CoServ homes can’t use these lists at all.

  2. 2
Price it at 500, 1,000 and 2,000 kWh

A bill-credit plan can look cheap at one usage level and cost much more at another. TXU’s plan runs from $80 to $115 apart at 500 kWh.

  3. 3
    Read the label’s date

Oncor changed its delivery charge on Oct 4, 2026, and TNMP on Sept 13. A label from before can show a price that is too low.

  4. 4
    Know the exit fee

Some plans charge one flat fee, such as $100, $150, $200 or $300. Others charge $20 for each month left. A move with a forwarding address is exempt.

  5. 5
    Know your 3 days

Switching from another company? You can cancel free within 3 federal business days. A start at a new address doesn’t get that window.

Our fact label guide walks through the fine print of any plan. Fixed or variable? Start with fixed vs. variable rates.

13 · Questions

Lewisville electricity questions, answered

Short answers from state records, company documents, Census data and the PUCT’s service-quality reports.

Who is the electricity provider in Lewisville, TX?

Three wires companies serve Lewisville: Oncor, TNMP and CoServ. They own the poles and fix outages. Oncor and TNMP homes pick a retail company to sell them power, from up to 44 on Power to Choose on Oct 16, 2026. CoServ homes can’t pick one. Your bill names your wires company.

Is Lewisville served by Oncor or TNMP?

Both list Lewisville in their tariffs. TNMP’s own map shows only a small patch labeled Lewisville, and no company gives a street map. Power to Choose shows TNMP alone for ZIP 75029, and TNMP plus Oncor for 75057, 75067 and 75077. Check your bill or ESI ID to see which one is yours.

How many electric companies serve Lewisville, TX?

Up to 44 companies sell power in Lewisville. On Oct 16, 2026, Oncor’s lines had 43 companies in our table plus Think Energy. TNMP’s lines had 41 plus Think. Varsity Energy and Heritage Power list plans on Oncor’s lines only. CoServ homes have no seller to pick. Your wires company decides which list applies.

How can I tell which utility serves my Lewisville address?

Read your last bill for the wires company’s name. Check your ESI ID: Oncor’s starts with 1044372 and TNMP’s with 1040051. Oncor has an online ESI ID lookup, TNMP asks you to contact it, and CoServ links a territory map on its set-up page. A ZIP code alone can’t settle it.

Can I pick my electric company if CoServ serves my home?

No. CoServ is an electric co-op, and its site says members and customers never need to shop around for a better deal. Starting service costs a $40 connection fee, plus a deposit of up to $300 if credit requires one. Call CoServ at 940-321-7800 to ask about your address.

What are electricity rates in Lewisville per kWh?

On Oct 16, 2026, simple 12-month plans ran from 12.0¢ to 16.1¢ per kWh on Oncor’s list, with a middle price of 13.2¢. On TNMP’s list they ran from 11.6¢ to 17.6¢, with a middle price of 14.9¢. These prices are at 1,000 kWh, include delivery and leave out taxes.

How much more does TNMP delivery cost than Oncor?

At 1,000 kWh, TNMP’s delivery charge is $85.27 a month, from the PUCT’s Oct 1, 2026 table. Oncor’s is $72.73 under its tariff since Oct 4. That makes TNMP $12.54 a month higher, or $150.48 a year. Oncor’s rate is temporary while the PUCT reviews Docket 59249.

Is TNMP’s 11.6¢ plan real?

Yes. Veteran Energy’s Basic 12 and Express Energy’s Speedy 12 labels, dated Oct 16, 2026, show 11.6¢ at 1,000 kWh on TNMP’s lines. Both use a 3.0510¢ energy charge, no base charge and a $20-per-month-left exit fee, and both are for new customers only. We don’t know why the energy charge is lower than on Oncor’s lines.

Which is cheaper in Lewisville, Reliant or TXU?

It depends on usage. On Oncor’s lines, TXU’s Smart 1000 Select 12 costs $109 at 1,000 kWh, against $151 for Reliant Power On 12. Reliant is cheaper at 500 kWh, $80 to $115, and at 2,000 kWh, $294 to $312. TXU’s low price leans on a $100 credit at 1,000 kWh.

What is the most reliable electric company in Texas?

Your seller can’t change outages, so look at wires companies. In their 2025 PUCT reports, Oncor had the fewest forced-outage minutes per customer, 66.57, and TNMP the fewest across all four outage types, 160.98. Rankings flip by measure, CenterPoint and AEP Texas led neither, and the numbers are company-wide, not Lewisville-only.

Who do I call when the power goes out in Lewisville?

Call your wires company, not your seller. Oncor’s line is 888-313-4747. TNMP’s is 888-866-7456. CoServ’s is 855-938-3496, as listed on its outage page on Oct 16, 2026. Each company also runs an outage map. For a downed line, stay far away and call 911.

Why does Power to Choose list plans for ZIP 75077 if CoServ serves Highland Village?

ZIP 75077 covers parts of Lewisville, where Oncor and TNMP hold territory, and the lookup answers with their plans. About 68% of the ZIP’s land is in Highland Village, Copper Canyon and Double Oak, where CoServ holds almost all the territory. A CoServ home can’t use those plans.
