Solar review questions, answered

How our reviews work.

How do you score solar companies?

Every company gets the same 100-point formula, built from public records: lawsuits, warranty terms, price clarity, who installs, years in business, certifications and BBB grade.

Which solar company has the best score?

Freedom Solar Power, at 82 out of 100, has the best score in our national reviews so far.

Do companies pay to be reviewed?

No. No company pays to be listed, scored or reviewed, and we never review a company we work with.

What if my solar company went bankrupt?

Start with our solar bankruptcy guides. They explain who handles warranties, leases and claims after a company closes.

How often are these reviews updated?

We recheck records at every update and date each change in the page’s changelog.

Can I still get the 30% solar tax credit?

Not if you buy. The federal credit for buyers ended on December 31, 2025. Lease and power plan pricing works differently.
