37 court cases, and what they add up to
Since 2021, 37 cases have named a Semper Solaris company in two California courts. None ended in a class settlement.
Most are small claims or contract fights, which is normal for a company that has done many installs. Semper filed 11 of the cases itself. Two were filed as proposed class or complex cases, and both were dismissed with no class settlement. Our formula only takes points for class settlements and state actions, so none of these cost Semper points.
* One more case, in Alameda County, could not be checked. That court charges a fee to search, and we do not pay for records. If we find it matters, we will update this page and its score.

A dismissal is not a win or a loss, and the records rarely say why a case ended. We list what the registers show, and nothing more.
How Semper scores 56
Semper earned full marks for its legal record, years in business and BBB grade. Missing details cost it the most.
Semper missed 44 points. Not saying who installs cost 12. Missing warranty terms cost 17: no labor years, no roof-leak years, no power promise and no outside backup. No posted prices or loan fees cost 11. No NABCEP installers cost 4. It earned 2 points for its Tesla and Enphase certifications.
Semper is held to the same public-records formula as every company we review.
A warranty page full of makers’ papers
Semper’s warranty page hosts documents from the companies that make its equipment. We found no labor or roof-leak terms from Semper itself.
One document is named an enhanced labor warranty, but it covers the panel maker’s product and output, not Semper’s install work. Equipment warranties are real and useful, and they earned Semper 4 points. But they do not cover a leak from a badly placed bolt. Ask Semper for its own labor and roof-leak terms in writing.
Licensed in California and Texas
Semper’s main California license is active and includes the solar class. Its Texas company holds an active electrical license.
In California, license 978152 belongs to Semper Home, doing business as Semper Solaris. It covers general building, electrical, solar, roofing and heating and air, with a $25,000 bond and current workers’ comp. In Texas, Semper Solaris of Texas Inc holds electrical contractor license EC-36757. That makes Semper tied for 19th of 20 in our Texas ranking.
Texas began registering home solar sellers in August 2026, and Semper was not listed yet when we checked. Most companies were not.
Read the fine print on “no cost” solar
Semper’s Texas page advertises solar and batteries at no cost. Offers like that are almost always leases or power plans.
With a lease or power plan, another company owns the system and you pay each mnoth. That can work, but ask who owns the panels, how much the payment rises each year and what happens when you sell your home. Get every answer in writing.

Semper Solaris pays us nothing. Court details are from public registers; a case being filed is not proof of wrongdoing.
