Short answer

Blue Raven Solar is no longer its own company. SunPower bought it in 2021. Then SunPower went bankrupt in 2024. Its Blue Raven business was sold to Complete Solaria, which now calls itself SunPower. The sale closed on September 30, 2024. If your system was finished by then, the new SunPower says it is not responsible for it. Start with your lender, your lease company or the maker of your equipment.

01 · What happened

What happened to Blue Raven Solar?

Blue Raven Solar was a Utah installer. SunPower bought it in 2021. Then SunPower went bankrupt, and Blue Raven was sold to a new owner.

Here is the timeline, from start to today:

  1. Blue Raven starts

The company is founded in Orem, Utah.

  2. SunPower buys it

SunPower buys Blue Raven Solar for up to $165 million.

  3. SunPower goes bankrupt

SunPower files for bankruptcy and agrees to sell the Blue Raven business.

  4. The sale closes

Complete Solaria buys the Blue Raven business and the SunPower name.

  5. A new SunPower

Complete Solaria renames itself SunPower Inc.

  6. The website

    blueravensolar.com now shows SunPower’s site.

The new owner, Complete Solaria, renamed itself SunPower Inc. in 2025. So the SunPower you see today is not the company that went bankrupt. Its acquisition page explains what it bought and what it did not take on.

02 · Action finder

Own a Blue Raven system? Find who helps you now

The right place to call depends on when your system was finished, how you paid and what you need.

03 · The key date

The date that decides everything: September 30, 2024

That is the day the sale closed. Your system’s finish date puts you on one side of it or the other.

Finished on or before Sept. 30, 2024Not the new SunPower’s job

It says it took on no ownership, benefits or liabilities for these systems. Start with your lender or lease company.

Finished after Sept. 30, 2024The new SunPower serves it

Its Blue Raven Solar line handles these systems. Use SunPower’s warranty and support pages.

For systems finished by that date, the new SunPower says it took on no ownership, benefits or liabilities. It also took no interest in leases or power plans from before the sale. That means no company stepped in to cover the old install promises.

04 · Warranties

Your warranties now: install, panels and inverters

The install warranty from before the sale has no new backer. Panel and inverter warranties still come from the companies that made them.

A workmanship warranty covers the install work. For older Blue Raven systems, no company took it over. Equipment is different. Your panels and inverters carry warranties from their makers, which still apply. SunPower’s legacy warranty page can help you find them.

If your monitoring stopped working, SunPower’s FAQ says Enphase sells an upgrade kit. It replaces the old SunPower box so you can see your system’s output again.

05 · Money owed

Owed money by the old SunPower? Here is how to file

Claims against the old SunPower go through its bankruptcy case, not the new company.

The bankruptcy has an official claims website run by the claims agent, Epiq. That is where to look for case updates and how claims work. Keep copies of your contract, payments and any promised refunds or rebates.

Do you have a lease or power plan? Then your payments go to the financing company or SunStrong Management. SunStrong services many older SunPower-era systems.

06 · Records

Blue Raven’s records: a Minnesota order and a Texas license

Two state records are worth knowing about. Neither one changes what owners should do now.

In July 2024, Minnesota signed a consent order with BRS Field Ops, the company behind Blue Raven Solar. It was censured. It agreed to a $20,000 penalty, with $10,000 held back on conditions. The state’s published summary deos not say what the case was about. Minnesota notes that a consent order is not a finding or an admission.

Texas records show Blue Raven’s electrical license expired on April 24, 2026, as of October 7, 2026. BRS Field Ops held it.
